A CabinZero Luggage Review and Free Giveaway

January 10, 2017 by Arianwen Morris 99 Comments

This week on my blog I’m running a giveaway on behalf of CabinZero Luggage – the manufacturers of this great piece of travel gear I’ve been taking for a test run around New Zealand.

CabinZero Luggage Review

Before my recent trip to Asia, I found the best travel backpack travel and it helped me to realise something. As long as luggage is comfortable to wear, it’s far easier getting from A to B with a rucksack than a suitcase.

For years, the standard design of cabin luggage has been a solid suitcase on wheels, but these are cumbersome,  take up a lot of space in storage, are difficult to manoeuvre over steps and bumpy ground, and quite frequently don’t meet airline dimensions.

Enter CabinZero luggage. This range of bags comes in various attractive designs and bright colours, and is perfect for short-haul, weekend break and business travel, as well as day trips and hiking. They make perfect gifts for travellers too!

The following are 10 reasons why you should consider purchasing CabinZero luggage for your next trip. There’s also a discount code and a chance for you to win your own classic camouflage bag for free! Read on to find out more!

1. CABIN-SIZED

CabinZero Luggage Review - Cabin Sized

The number one factor people consider when booking a trip overseas is the price, according to Barcelo’s Travel Insights. This makes shorter trips with budget airlines a hugely popular choice. However, restrictions on the size and weight of your luggage can be the source of pre-travel anxiety and may contribute to hidden costs.

CabinZero luggage is designed specifically to ensure that it meets the specified dimensions for all major airlines, but if you’re in any doubt, their website has a useful page with a list of major airlines’ size and weight restrictions and links to further information.

2. RUCKSACK-STYLED

CabinZero Luggage Review - Walking and Hiking

The advantage of CabinZero luggage over most other styles of cabin luggage is that it’s styled like a rucksack. The bag itself is incredibly lightweight compared with a suitcase, leaving you a greater proportion of your stingy airline weight allocation for your actual belongings.

The fact that CabinZero luggage is styled as a rucksack also makes it more convenient to carry. Let’s face it, if an airline only permits you to bring 7 to 10 kg in the cabin anyway, it’s not going to be a heavy piece of luggage, and it’s much easier to have it on your back than to have to keep lifting it up stairs and kerbs and waking up the neighbourhood with the sound of wheels scraping over uneven ground.

3. TRACKABLE BY OKOBAN

CabinZero Luggage Review - Okoban Tracking

All CabinZero luggage comes with a tracking device powered by Okoban. This means you have a much better chance of getting your luggage back if it’s lost or stolen.

All you need to do is find your bag’s unique identification code, log on to the Okoban website and add your contact details along with this code.

The Okoban system is integrated with WorldTracer, the central lost and found system used by all airlines. If anyone finds your bag, they can easily report it online and you’ll receive a notification immediately.

4. HUGE RANGE OF DESIGNS

montage-1

Not only does CabinZero luggage come in a massive range of colours, there are also various styles and sizes to choose from.

The classic design comes as both a 28 l and 44 l size and the larger model has 14 plain and vibrant colours as well as four funky camouflage prints. It has side compression straps, top and side handles, front and inside zipped pockets and mesh pockets, weights 750 g and has dimensions of 55 x 40 x 20 cm.

The vintage design is a 44 l two-tone bag in either black, red, grey or blue. The specs are similar, but owing to its eco-friendly bottom and front detail, it weighs just 10 g more.

Last but not least, the 44 l military design comes in sand, black and green tones and is perfect for the adventurous traveller. Its outer layer is made from military spec nylon, making it especially durable, and the front and sides feature accessory webbing. The dimensions are the same as the classic and vintage models, but the weight is 950 g to account for the different materials.

5. GREAT FEATURES

CabinZero Luggage Review - YKK Zips

Whichever product you choose, they are all made from lightweight, durable materials and they all have padded shoulder straps for additional comfort. All of the zips are made by the world’s largest zip manufacturer – YKK – and can be locked using a small padlock.

6. 25-YEAR WARRANTY

All CabinZero Luggage comes with a 25-year warranty. All you have to do to be eligible is like them on Facebook.

7. PACKING CUBES

CabinZero Luggage Review - Packing Cubes

If you’re a fan of packing cubes – and let’s face it, who isn’t – the designers over at CabinZero luggage have created a high-quality range made with strong nylon and featuring a practical carrying handle. They’re perfectly sized to fit in your CabinZero bag and they each come with their very own Okoban tracker in case you lose one when it’s not inside your luggage.

Also, just to sweeten the deal, you have the chance to win a set of packing cubes every week by posting photos of your CabinZero luggage on Instagram with the hashtag #mycabinzero.

8. WATERPROOF

All of the bags have an inner lining of polyester, as well as an outer waterproof lining of polyester or military spec nylon (depending on the model). This keeps your valuables safe and dry in poor weather conditions.

9. CABINZERO LUGGAGE DISCOUNT CODE

CabinZero Luggage Review - Discount Code

If you weren’t already convinced, the CabinZero folks have sweetened the deal by agreeing to give Beyond Blighty readers a 10% discount off any purchase with the code CZBEYONDBLIGHTY. This code is valid for 30 days from January 12.

Hi Astrid. That’s great to hear! Make sure you use the discount code before it expires! I hope you like it as much as I like mine!
